Please Note: Members
are reminded that payment of the 2011 club levy is now well overdue and
the minimum of 20% of the 2011-2012 subscriptions was due at the end of
October 2011. It is disappointing to find many members have declined to
honour this obligation. The object of this 20% was to fund the Clubs
running cost through the lean period of October 1st. – December 31st.
This in the past was funded by the bank, a large overdraft facility. We
thank the members that have honoured this 20% obligation to date and
hope others will follow soon, for which we thank them in anticipation,
and preventing the club seeking funding from the bank.

Club Website: On-line booking Please read The
on-line booking facility opened on August 20th. for tee time booking
for August 27th. and there after. The response for the weekend booking
was very successful. However the same can’t be said for the Members
that play during the week, lets hope this is just forgetfulness on
their part. It is imperative that all members book a time whenever they
wish to play and prevent clashing on the tee with Visitors that have
booked on-line, and in particular open days.
Members that have
registered themselves for the online booking can now use this facility
from the comfort of their home. Members with PC that have not yet
registered and thoes Members that have no access to a PC have now been
registered in bulk by the club. Members with a PC can now access the
booking facility via the previous information provided. Use you 8 digit
GUI / ILGU number as a username and the club will provide an
appropriate password which you can change to one of your preference.
For members with no access to a PC, one is now available at the
clubhouse. It is a simple task; just follow the instructions provided
on the board adjacent to the club PC. Username and password is as
mentioned above.
You should be aware, now that this system is in
operation the existing method of tee time booking no longer applies.
The only occasion the old timesheet method may be used is for e.g.
shotgun start, 9 Hole Mixed Team events and the like; block bookings
will be reserved online for those. Now that the system is in operation,
your cooperation and patience is greatly needed for it to be effective.
Names booked on time sheet have priority on the tee
PLEASE NOTE Booking
for competitions will only be available a minimum of 8 days in advance
and commence at a specific time e.g. 12:00am. The time of 12:00 am will
be used for a trial period. Feed/back from members during this period
may establish a more suitable time. Following some feed/back we have
decided not to use 7 pm as the closing time for bookings and have
change this to 2hrs before your actual tee time. This will allow
cancellations and additions up to that time. However we would stress
that all tee time bookings should be completed by 7 pm the day before;
this will allow for the printing of a time sheet from the system and
publishing it in the appropriate places. If you book after that time
please appreciate that your name will not appear on the printed time
sheet
Following 27th. August

Competitions, Please ensure you
complete your matches by the dates as indicated on the draw sheets. The winner
of his match must put his name forward to the next round, this to be done as
soon as possible follow the finish of the last match.
On-line booking procedure
You should be
aware that once this system is in operation (booking to commence on 19th. August 2011 at 12.00am) the existing method of tee time booking
will no longer apply. The only occasion
the old timesheet method may be used is for e.g. shotgun start, 9 Hole Mixed
and the like; block bookings will be reserved online for those.
When booking a tee time we would ask all
members to try and adhere to the times they have always used. By sticking to
these old times we do not envisage too many problems. A Member wishing to make a booking for fellow members can only do so for
the members in his time slot. We would like to remind members that the
system relies on power and telephone/broadband supply, failure of either will
render the system void during that period.
A) For online booking, go to the club website www.carrickgolfclub.com on the home page right click on the words Member Booking to open and
then follow the easy instructions. To book a tee time you must first register
(to register you will need to have your GUI/ILGU 8 digit number at hand for
this). It is important to provide an e-mail address as this will allow the
system to confirm your booking or cancellation. It is also very important to
provide a mobile phone number as the system has the facility to text all
members on information concerning the course and other items of interest e.g.
course closed due to inclement weather, tee times put back 3hrs, etc
B) Booking for competitions will only be available
7 to 8 days in advance and commence at a specific time e.g. 12:00am. The time of 12:00 am will be used for a trial period. Feed/back from
members during this period may establish a more suitable time. The Closing time
for all bookings will be 7 pm the day before; this will allow for the printing of a time
sheet from the system and publishing it in the appropriate places. C) If you wish to cancel a booking* this must be done 2 hours in advance of your
booked tee time. If however your tee time is before 9.30 am then cancellation must be done the night
before. Please be aware that the phone at the club is not always manned. * Instructions, to Add, Edit or Delete a booking
can be found the website booking page
NOTE: From the 27th August do not start a round of golf at any time
without referring to the time sheet for the day. All casual golf must be booked
through the on-line system. Members who do not book a time can only avail
of vacant slots that may be available on the time sheet.

This years Captains
prize was a one day event and got off to an early start, first tee time 06:00
and play continued until 16:00 by which time close on 200 members played. Some
great scores were returned. Four members carded a nett 66, the winner Martin O'
Mahoney finished the strongest with the best back Nine. Holding the event on
the one-day only proved very successful, as the Clubhouse was very active all
day ending with a large gathering for the presentation of prizes,

We take this
opportunity to inform members that the on-line booking of tee times
will commence soon. The competition on the 27th August Sponsored by
Heffernan Insurance will be the first one to use the on-line facility.
It has been a long and tiresome experience to get members with PCs and
an email address to register. We have decided to proceed as we can't
wait any longer. A computer will soon be available at the club for
those who do not have access to their own computer. Further information
will be made available concerning changes to the present system, which
will be inevitable, when the new system is in operation
Your
patience in this matter will be required when the system is put into
operation. The feedback from other Clubs that have introduced this type
of system was that there will be teething troubles and consequently we
would ask you to be patient until these are ironed out.
